Application Engineer-Inside Sales

Responsible for the pre- and post-sale support of industrial automation customers.  This position will be based out of our Cleveland, OH office.

 

Primary Duties:

Meet with customers to understand project opportunities, and work with project engineers/managers to develop solutions to address customer needs.

Develop system architecture drawings, technical proposals, and associated pricing.

Present technical/commercial proposals to customers.

Follow-up with existing customers and foster new business relationships; supporting multiple locations as required.

 

Qualifications:

Engineering degree or equivalent experience in industrial automation.

Experience working with PLC, drives, and HMI products, as well as metals processing knowledge is strongly preferred.

Willingness and desire to participate in ongoing training to maintain technical competency in automation products, software and complimentary areas

Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio

Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal

Travel required approximately 25% of the time.

Cleveland

Project Manager

Responsible for managing automation projects from $50,000 to $15,000,000.  Project managers are responsible for executing multiple projects simultaneously.  IMS is seeking candidates for our Cleveland, OH, Pittsburgh, PA and Chicago, IL offices.

 

Primary Duties:

Work with sales to define the project requirements at the onset of each project.

Develop project execution plans.

Work with assigned project engineers / teams to execute the scope of work.

Control internal equipment costs, labor costs, and deliveries.

Coordinate and manage sub-contractors, including control of quality, cost, and delivery.

Ensure project satisfies the proposed scope of work / customer specifications.

Interface with the customer for reporting and resolution of issues.

Provide status, spending, and schedule reporting to internal and external customers.

 

Qualifications:

Engineering degree or equivalent experience in industrial automation

Experience working with PLC, drives, and HMI products, as well as metals processing knowledge is strongly preferred.

Project engineers are responsible for fulfilling project assignments, individually or as part of a project team.  Assignments may include involvement in multiple projects simultaneously.  IMS is seeking candidates for our Cleveland, OH, Pittsburgh, PA and Chicago, IL offices.

 

Primary Duties:

Receive assignments from project management/technical lead.

Report on status and communicate technical issues.

Provide engineering detail to and work with internal drafting resources to develop drawings.

Develop technical documentation and specifications.

Write PLC and HMI application software.

Configure AC / DC drive equipment.

Develop system test plan documents, simulation code, and perform system testing.

Coordinate with project management, technical leads, and/or end customers to commission systems.

 

Qualifications:

Engineering degree or equivalent experience in industrial automation

Qualified entry level candidates will be considered.

Aptitude in programming/configuring PLC’s (Allen Bradley, Siemens, and GE), drives (Siemens, ABB, and Allen Bradley), and or HMI packages is a plus.

Experience in metals processing is strongly preferred.

Willingness and desire to participate in ongoing training to maintain technical competency in automation products, software and complimentary areas.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Word, Excel, and Visio

Project / Field Service Engineer

Project engineers are responsible for fulfilling project assignments, individually or as part of a project team.  Assignments may include involvement in multiple projects simultaneously and callouts to service new and older existing customer process lines.  IMS is seeking candidates for our Crown Point, In. office.

 

Primary Duties:

Receive assignments from project management/technical lead.

Report on status and communicate technical issues.

Provide engineering detail to and work with internal drafting resources to develop drawings.

Develop technical documentation and specifications

Write PLC and HMI application software.

Configure AC / DC drive equipment.

Develop system test plan documents, simulation code, and perform system testing.

Coordinate with project management, technical leads, and/or end customers to commission systems.

Support Customers in a field service capability on new and aging equipment

 

Qualifications:

Engineering degree or equivalent experience in industrial automation.

Electrical CAD Designer / Electrical Draftsman

The primary responsibility of the CAD Designer will be the creation of electrical drawings. BOMs, enclosure layouts and related technical documentation to support the engineering group in the quoting, design and fabrication process.

 

Primary Duties:

Preparing clear, complete, detailed electrical CAD drawings for customers.

Coordinate with electrical engineers and other trade disciplines.

Be geared toward fulfilling accurate estimations and designs on drawings.

Develop BOMs, enclosure layouts, panel layouts, and fabrication drawings.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor or Associates degree in related field or trade school certification in drafting, design or equivalent.

Ability to read, analyze, understand and interpret design and electrical drawings.

2+years’ experience in electrical drafting and electrical.

Knowledge of the principles of engineering and construction.

Proficiency with AutoCad Electrical, AutoCad, Microsoft Office products, especially Excel.

Communication skills both written and verbal are required.
